Recently we went to a pumpkin patch near our home. The boys loved it!! Asher seemed to enjoy the tractor and corn more than the pumpkins! Hope you enjoy the pics!!

Ever get caught up in the Christmas "Rush"? It seems every year I am always looking for something for someone at the last minute. I am always in search of the perfect gift for those on my list. As the shopping days wind down I find myself getting increasingly stressed and not really a pleasant person to be shopping with! This year started out that way too, at least until Friday night. As I was leaving my home to go paint a set for the Christmas cantata (I was not being very servant minded about it either), I noticed our next door neighbors leaving for a Christmas function themselves. They have a precious little boy who I could hear talking as I was getting in my vehicle. We backed out of our driveways and onto the road at the same time as if we planned it.....little did I know it was a divine appointment. Just one mile down the road, I watched this family get hit by a drunk driver. The street was dark and we never saw his headlights. I was stopped at the stop sign watching the scene unfold as if it were a crash scene in a movie. I wish I could say that my first words were prayer, but they weren't. It was a panic filled voice just screaming "NO". I can honesty say at that moment I have never felt more helpless. Looking back I now know I can say I watched the Hand of God reach down from Heaven and place His protection on our friends. While the father, who is also a worship pastor, had broken jaws, 2 hours of facial reconstruction surgery, and his jaw wired together for 6 weeks, it could have been much worse. Their precious little boy is fine with only bumps and bruises. Their unborn child is perfect as well. Basically they walked away from what should have been a deadly crash with repairable injuries! Praise the Lord!

Last night, while we were doing some last minute shopping, that frustration bug started to bite again. I just had to stop and think about the past few days to remember that buying the perfect gift shouldn't be one of my worries at all. Sharing the perfect gift should be my only concern. Because isn't the meaning of Christmas the most perfect gift of all??

Asher's thoughts on cereal

A few weeks ago, Asher got his first taste of big boy food - cereal. He has not become a die hard fan of solid food, but is slowly coming around!

And so it begins.....

For some time now I have wanted to chronicle my thoughts and the adventures of life with 2 boys....3 if you count Brian! As I sit and try to gather my thoughts I am handing imaginary utensils and food items to Bradyn who is pretending to be his father's personal chef. I really want to send him to bed, but there is just something about the big blue eyes and freckled nose that melts my heart. Seems like only yesterday he was just a bundle of blankets in my arms. I wonder where the past 3 years have gone. Soon enough I will be repeating the phrase only the age will be different and it will include another blue eyed boy named Asher.

How blessed I am to be mom to these two precious boys.....................
